My name is Barb, and I've had a glorious adventure rich life. My first job as a horse trail guide began at age 11, and I've never looked back. Since then I've guided whitewater rafting trips for many years, including 15 seasons through Hell's Gate on the mighty Fraser River. I've owned two rewarding adventure outfits along the way; river rafting and a climbing wall. During this time I held the vice president position for a term with the BCROA (BC River Outfitters Association).
I've also had the good fortune of being a part of the development team for the current management plan for the Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park. With the creation of Shuswap Unique Adventure Tours in 2011, my goal was to provide interesting and exclusive adventures to small groups of people. I bring to the table a solid background of risk management to help achieve this. Our fragile environment needs us all to be advocates for the conservation of our planet, our home. To see is to believe. What better way to showcase the magnificence of nature than to provide innovative and fun ways to enjoy it!

To provide innovative, eco friendly avenues to showcase the beautiful outdoors of the Thompson Okanagan Shuswap region of Super Natural British Columbia. To offer new and satisfying adventures, suitable for first timers and return guests alike. To show each client the enthusiasm and excitement of a ‘first time’ experience. To enlighten the captive audience (our clients) about the rich First Nations history, and the world famous Adams River sockeye salmon run; whereby inspiring conservation of this area and all wild lands.
